Blue Ribbon has responded well to requests for minor fixes since completing their work as well as those occurring during the original project.
We are very happy with the design. It was very easy to work with Blue Ribbon to see the design come to life and have the job finished in a reasonable amount of time. They assumed responsibiltiy for the few difficulties encountered with no hassles. We had a very good experience and outcome.
On site team kept the workplace safe and well organized. We received six unsolicited compliments on their work, construction progress, and professionalism from our neighbors. This was a very important measure as we are the first significant renovation in our housing tract. The resulting remodel looks like part of the original house.
Blue Ribbon designed and built a first floor bedroom, walk-in closet and stunning bathroom for my Mother who has Alzheimer’s and lives with my husband and me. To say this project was challenging due to specific accommodations for Mom and due to constructing this addition on a tight side yard, does not really begin to tell the story that only precise engineering, visionary design and competent, talented and caring builders could create. I am a recently retired attorney who spend years in construction defect litigation which equipped me with the ability to know standards of practice in residential construction. I was home nearly every day of this project and watched each trade carefully and correctly build what has become an absolute show place. Karl, the construction superintendent, was available to me 24/7 and always went the extra mile to keep even the smallest concerns of mine at the forefront of his to do list. At the suggestion of Jeff, the designer, we added a second story laundry room over the bedroom and I have died and gone to heaven with no longer hauling laundry up and down the stairs. Blue Ribbon’s price was exceedingly fair and we are in the process of the final accounting and items over which we have had a difference of opinion who’s responsibility it is to pay, have been discussed and I am delighted to say, adjusted for in a professional, fair manner, resurrecting the old adage, ” the customer is always right”.
We plan to host a BBQ for Blue Ribbon, who transformed our home into a lovely, safe and comforting place for my Mother to live out the balance of her life.
We also built a fireplace which is captivating!
I have pen to paper working on the next project and will not call anyone but my Blue Ribbon family to build it!
When in this life are expectations exceeded? Blue Ribbon exceeded ours.
We bought a house that blue ribbon had worked on previously and was considering using them again but after the rude conversation i had with them regarding our pre existing floor plans i am looking for another company. I simply asked them for a copy of our floor plans and he kept saying well if you want we can have you sit down with our CAD designer to look at the plans and give you an estimate. I told him i dont need a designer i am a cad designer myself im just interested in the plans of my current house which we own to see what we are sitting on and that we would consider using their services he asked me if it was going to be paid in cash…wtf does that have to with it, well i guess greed comes over some people. After wasting my time and giving me a run around conversation he said well you know what i dont wanna work with yoi.andi told him thats fine i dont either i just want my house plans and he said i will sell them to you for $3000 and i told him to suck it and i laughed and hung up the phone. And now i am going to call my lawyer and go a different direction.
So in conclusion, work with them if you want your property stolen and a rude phone call.
Just an update: last year I finally recieved my old house plans in the mail, with an apologetic letter explaining that they had fallen behind a cabinet and had only recently been found. I’m glad they sent them back at least.
I just had Blue Ribbon concert our 3rd car garage into an office. After getting 4 different quotes we felt Blue Ribbon was a good fit for our conversion and let me tell you…I am so happy we did! They did an amazing job! They covered EVERYtHING with us! They explained all the processes and if I had a question…they answered right away! I loved all the contractors they had help with our conversion. My office feels like it has always been part of our home! I highly recommend Blue Ribbon. You won’t be disappointed.
We hired Blue Ribbon Design-Build to develop plans for a master bedroom addition to our home. We paid $5,500 to develop a full set set of permittable plans and after waitiing several months, they were rejected by the City of Huntington Beach for lack of a grading plan. Blue Ribbon claimed this was a new regulation and never enforced before, they wanted us to spend several thousand dollars more to develop the grade plan. Turns out the law has been in effect since 1994 and always enforced – Blue Ribbon just did not know the rules. Rather than complete the plans at their cost as it was clearly a part of their scope, Blue Ribbon walked away from any responsibility. They even got upset that we did not want to construct with them after this fiasco! Botton line, we are out $5,500 with nothing to show for it.
We were looking into adding to our house. We had a few contractors come over and give us ideas. Blue Ribbon was one of those builders and They had the best idea for increasing our living space. It was clear that they know what they are talking about. Their pricing was fair and their services were exemplary. They work with some of the most professional and courteous sub-contractors. They provided the plans and were patient with our changes. We had difficulty getting approval from the home owner’s association and they were able to provide plan revisions that satisfied us and the Association’s architect. we are very happy to have found and picked Blue Ribbon for our project. They are honest, responsive and knowledgeable.
